Before pursuing a writing career, he was a lighting technician and stage manager for many theatrical productions at American River College. Brian went on to become a student filmmaker at San Francisco State University. In the 1980s, he worked in the audio-visual field in Chicago Illinois and as a videographer in Sacramento, California. His interests in astronomy, numismatics and philosophy often find their way into his fiction.  Brian currently resides in Rancho Cordova, California.
